Apple were the among the first companies to start off the legal download revolution with their iTunes brand and many more popular retailers have followed including the likes of Play.com and HMV.

A more recent introduction to the Apple empire has been the inclusion of the Movie and TV series downloads to the iTunes shop. Amazon have also set up download capabilities for both music and film but as yet this is only for customers in the US.
