With so many hotels competing with each other for guests, and now the growing self-catering holiday led industry as well, you must make sure that your hotel and the accommodation and service that you offer stand head and shoulders above the rest. This may be easier than you think if you are well organised and have the guests’ best interests at heart.

#1 Add Additional Luxuries as Standard

It is important to make every guest feel welcomed and special when they are visiting your hotel. You need to remember that, although it is a usual day for you, it could very well be an experience that your guests have been saving up for and looking forward to.

With this in mind, you should have a touch of luxury in each of your rooms, even if it is just a welcome gift of a vase of flowers, a bottle of regional wine, or a small something to nibble that has been prepared by your kitchen, such as cake or biscuits, with the option of a pot of tea or some coffee for the room that’s made fresh while your guests unpack.

Where possible, supplying luxurious large-sized beds, such as a King sized bed, if your rooms have the space for them, would be an extravagance that your guests will appreciate. It could be a point that sticks in their minds, so that they not only recommend your hotel to others, but actively look to revisit or make it their regular holiday destination.

#2 Promote Local Sites and Attractions

You must remember that you are playing an important part in bringing in money to your local community, and although other businesses around you are probably relying on the trade that comes through your doors to boost their own, you are likewise relying on their trade to get paying customers to stay with you. The same goes for using local businesses to source your consumables and food for breakfasts.

You should, therefore, have an area in every room that promotes local attractions and amenities that your guests may want to visit while they are staying with you, as well as your facilities, such as the hotel restaurant, spa, gym, pool, golf course, or walking routes around your grounds that your hotel may have to offer.

#3 Cater for All Possible Dietary Tastes

When it comes to your hotel restaurant, you should make sure that you have the most common dietary requirements covered, as well as offer the facility to provide for any others that are required. Most hotels offer the option of breakfast for their guests, as well as a table in their evening restaurant. You could also find it very beneficial to offer a lunch box sandwich or picnic option for the middle of the day, for your guests to enjoy while they are travelling the local area.

Many hotels cater to meat eaters, and recently more and more have embraced vegetarianism and provided options for those guests too. However, there are very few or select hotels that will go as far as to offer vegan-styled breakfasts alongside the full English and vegetarian options.

To Sum It All Up

You not only want your paying guests to enjoy their stay, but you want them to recommend your hotel to others, while at the same time falling over themselves to make another booking with you.

You can make sure that your hotel stays in their memory by offering a fantastic service, but you can also make sure it stays there by upping your game as far as the standard welcome that you give and the lavish furnishings that you provide. Also, opening your doors to those who have different dietary requirements or wishes could very well find your hotel bursting at the seams with happy returning customers.
